Birds and Bards Festival
Boston, MA May 19, 20, 21, 2006
The National Park Service/Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic
Site, the Franklin Park Coalition, the Forest Hills Educational
Trust, and the Boston Nature Center are co-sponsoring a "Birds and
Bards Festival" the weekend of May 19-21, 2006 that will include
early morning bird walks at Franklin Park (May 19), the Boston Nature
Center (May 20), and Forest Hills Cemetery (May 21). Held during the
peak spring songbird migration, these walks should provide
opportunities to view warblers and other species.
Third weekend in May. All programs are FREE! Events include kayak
tour, bird show, bird walks, botany walk, nature walk, tidepooling,
aquatic touch tank for kids, demonstrations. Witness the spectacular
spring migration and learn how to identify woodland birds. Explore
the unique plant life of the maritime forest and dunes. Discover the
variety of waterfowl and shorebirds visiting the Refuge.
